The Lion KJV Bible that started as a Kickstarter project is truly an amazing story. It's founder and chief creative officer, Daniel, is an aspiring David that has a grand mission to "slay" the Goliaths of Premium Bible Publishers (R.L. Allan, Cambridge, Schuyler, Thomas Nelson, Zondervan.) Indeed, this young upstart Bible Publishing Company, Humble Lamb, is a "Lion" at heart, as it endeavours to fulfill its vision of presenting the very best Premium Bible to the mass market.
The LIon KJV edition that I have purchased is the Sahara Blue Edition. It's cover design is very groundbreaking, in that its display is simple, yet straightforward. It focuses to the heart of the matter. The words etched and shown at the spine of "the Book," says it all: THE WORD OF GOD.
The art gilt is very rich with the blue under gold, The quality of the three gold ribbons is superb. The Meritan Goatskin leather is very supple and soft to touch. I was impressed that the "Lion" and the "Humble Lamb" logos were imprinted in gold inside the cover in order to properly identify itself, and humbly so.
With its perimeter stitching, gold borders on the inside cover, the inside "suede" feel, this premium bible, though humble, is confident as it stands tall as a first among equals in the premium bible market.
What makes this premium bible so distinctive is its layout. With the words of Christ in BLUE, the timeless artworks of the legendary Gustave Dore displayed throughout the Bible, the unique placement and order of the scripture references and meanings of the KJV archaic words at the bottom, and even an original concordance and original maps for 2020, the "Lion" roars fierce of creative originality, sincere authenticity, and a genuine desire to excel.
Indeed, including the Translators to The Reader, along with The Epistle Dedicatory, Humble Lamb succinctly honors the 47 translators with their enduring legacy, the Authorized King James Version.
The Translators' holy purpose are clearly defined by their own words:
Truly, good Christian Reader, we never thought from the beginning that we should need to make a new translation, nor yet to make of
a bad one a good one;…but to make a good one better, or out of many good ones one principal good one, not justly to be expected against; that hath been our endeavour, that our mark.
I commend Humble Lamb for choosing the Authorized King James Version as "the translation" for its relentless vision and pursuit, for Bible Publishing Excellence!
