The KJV Lion - Black features the Authorized King James Version in a highly readable verse-by-verse Bible text in a double-column format. Combining an 11-point Milo typeface,line-matching, archaic words defined, and illustrations from Gustave Dore, this edition is the perfect tool for serious Bible students.
I have just begun to use this Bible, so these are just first impressions. It is a pleasure to handle and to read. The type size, fonte, and layout are ideal for my elderly eyes, enabling extensive reading without fatigue. I think the word definitions could be improved on. Sometimes they don't relate to the word in the text (Gen 31.27 for example). Personally, i could do without the lion on the fore-edge, but he is very handsome. I suppose I will get used to him after a while! Otherwise the Bible is really nice to use. This new approach to Bible publishing is refreshing, but I would suggest there is a difference between real innovations and mere gimmicks.
Very well made. No flaws in my copy: impeccable corner work on the leather and gold lines/stamping. Paper is very nice. The pebble grain leather is nice and not too floppy in the hand. I am partial to river grain leather but this leather is still very nice with its pebble grain. The picture of the lion on the art gilt is wow! I had been hoping for many years that someone would produce an AV Bible with quality helps like Webs 1828 and other resources and Humble Lamb did just that and more. The concordance defines every single word entry!!! The readability of the text is amazing! And there are tones of cross references. The maps also seem decent. This Bible is stunning! Thank you Daniel and all those involved at Humble Lamb in this epic design and quality Bible.
