Schuyler, Cambridge, and Allan are well-known top-notch bibles in the way they are constructed and the materials they use (most of them made in the Netherlands). These bibles are one of the reasons they are called “premium bibles.” There are other bibles made in China that are also called “premium,” probably because they have goatskin covers and are edge-lined. In my humble opinion, most of these Bibles are not “premium”; they probably fall into the “high-end bibles” category. BUT, this is not the case with The Shepherd” by Humble Lamb. When I received my goatskin yellow lunar bible, I was genuinely impressed. The quality, thickness, and floppiness of the goatskin were impressive. The way it was constructed (individually handcrafted) –well done. The illustrations by Gustave Doré and the fore-edge gilt, unique features that elevated this bible to another dimension, the 32 gsm paper, which is perfect for a bible (not too thin, not too thick), line matching that avoids distractions during the reading experience, and the words of Christ in blue -simply beautiful-. This blue is not too dark nor too light. Although the font is point 9 (for those who prefer bigger font), I am learning that what makes the reading experience pleasant is not the biggest font necessarily but the room between the lines. In conclusion, I highly recommend Humble Lamb Bibles.
