The Humble Lamb Shepherd might be the best NKJV Bible out there. I already had the Shepherd in Sahara Blue Goatskin with the fore-edge gilt 1, which displays Jesus walking on water to rescue His lamb from the wolf. But I had to try the concept of Humble Lamb’s black wool goatskin color way with the second fore-edge gilt option, and it did not disappoint! The black goatskin looks amazing with the full grain leather, you can see the pebbles in the leather so clearly and it’s such a slick look. The white interior goatskin liner looks amazing, in fact I would love to see Humble Lamb try using this white as an external cover. The white liner background looks so awesome as your read the text! It is so unique!

I was surprised, but I liked the second fore-edge gilt even better than the first, which is saying something because Jesus walking on water is my favorite Bible story. The second gilt shows Jesus holding the lamb with His shepherd’s staff held high and a beaming light glowing about Him as He rescues His lamb from 3 wolves. It’s a stunning design that is so beautiful to look at as you read.

The Shepherd sports an easy to read 9 point Milo font, the same typeface that Schuyler uses. The blue accents and blue lettering for the words of Christ in these refreshed Shepherd editions is my favorite colored typeface. Reading the New Testament and seeing all of the blue lettering mixed with the art from Gustave Dore and the white goatskin liner background with the fore-edge gilt makes for an incredible reading experience. Humble Lamb is all about maximizing the reading experience, and there is no comparison out there to reading from a Humble Lamb Bible. It simply draws you in and makes you want to read it!

These Bibles are gorgeous!… I bought the Coral Coastline as a gift for my wife after seeing a friends and an Aspen Gold for myself… They are the perfect summer colors. She absolutely loves hers, I love mine and they make our morning Bible study all the more enjoyable! I am already planning to add 2 more to our collection in darker fall colors. The only problem I can foresee is that you are going to want them all! 😉

I received my copy of the NKJV Sheppard last week. It was perfectly packaged. The look and feel of the goatskin with the full yapp was gorgeous and the design of it is amazing, although I do feel that the font size was a little small, would have been better with a 10 point font size and be able to see the verse numbers a little clearer. Also the guilt edging with image was incredible. All in all a beautiful Bible.

This Bible in and of itself is a work of art. It feels sturdy in the hand when you hold it - solid construction but so soft and pliable it easily lays flat when laying it on a table. The pages are not stuck together which is an awesome experience. Each chapter starts with the open tomb icon which is beautiful and the dark blue lettering for the chapter and verse are such a nice change from the all black or the newer red/maroon that we are now seeing in many Bibles. This Bible smells wonderful -- is that weird? I would have never categorized myself as a Bible sniffer but this smells fantastic. My only suggestion for the next reprint would be to leave a smidge more gutter space. Absolutely wonderful Bible.

Thanks to Daniel and the team for making these great Bibles i purchased during the seconds sale and got the Tim Wildsmith Bible Desert Sky with the Fore-edge option 1 and i Love it i got a brand new Bible basically now i have 2 Humble Lamb Bibles the NKJV Shepherd and the NASB HIStory 1st print edition in Sahara Blue with the Fore-edge Gilt with representations of Christ from the Old and New Testaments and i Love my HIStory Bible it is still my number 1 Bible i just hope Daniel and the team reconsider making it in a 11 Point Font or 10 at least and i hope to purchase more Bibles from Humble Lamb i still got the KJV Lion and NLT SonRise on my list and the BSB Maker also Thank You Daniel for all you do you are a inspiration for my life and God Bless you your family and the team and one more thing JESUS CHRIST is my GOD LORD and SAVIOR

Wow! What an incredibly beautiful Bible. Everything from the fabulous forest green goatskin cover to the outstanding print layout with drop caps at each story break, this Bible delivers. The Fore-edge Gilt 2 with its terrific Biblical story detail is really special, too. This is my third Humble Lamb Bible, and I've not been disappointed yet. Thank you, Humble Lamb, for your attention to detail and tremendous craftsmanship. You truly do have something unique going on.

I bought this to give as a gift. It is a beautiful bible and I would love to keep it, but I am even more excited to give it to my daughter-in-law.

From the minute this Bible comes out of the box you are instantly met with such incredible, artistic design! The goatskin covers are amazing: I personally got the Olive Slate color and love it. The meritian goatskin is a finer pebbled cover than the new full grain goatskins that Humble Lamb is going to (my favorite goatskin covers), but you still need to own one of these finer grained meritian covers too. It has a lot of character to it, some imperfections that are more visible and overall adds to the artistic look of the Bible. The tooled line and perimeter stitch add a lot of “sharpness” to the exterior look.

The lion stamp embossed on the back of the goatskin is easier to see with the full grain goatskin but still looks great on the meritian leather. The “Word of God” stamp on the spine looks fantastic, I love that Humble Lamb refers to the Bible the way the Bible refers to itself: The Word of God.

The fore-edge gilding is my favorite feature of this Bible, I personally got the lion and the snake fore-edge, or as I like to call it, “the skull-crusher”. The reason I love Humble Lamb is that they use their artistic designs to point to the Bible being canonical: the Bible is a story, a story or the coming King and His Kingdom. The themes of the seedline, the threat to the seedline, and the providential victory over death in Revelation, is beautifully symbolized by the skullcrusher gild. In the end, the Lion crushes the head of the snake! This is my favorite fore-edge design that Humble Lamb has.

The inside of the Bible is flawless. The art illustrations by Gustave Dore, the blue lettering for the words of Christ, the text block, the blue accents….the reading experience is second to none when it comes to Humble Lamb.

I highly recommend this Bible!

This is an incredible Bible from the cover, to the art gilding, to the paper, to the text block, to the font, and to the ribbons. The enjoyment from just sitting and holding and reading this Bible has added, at least an hour time of Bible reading to my day. I have purchased a total of three so that when I use up one, I will have a couple of more just in case they ever go out of print. Unfortunately, they are so well-made that I don’t think it will fall apart. These Bibles are so beautiful that I want to buy them as gifts and give them to family members that I love and want them to read God‘s Word. Thank you Humble Lamb for making this incredible Bible.
