NLT SonRise - Semi Yapp

These bibles are absolutely stunning! I love everything about them! The gorgeous goatskin leather in rich colors (I got black, red, and yellow) and beautiful binding! I love the quality of the paper and the single column layout! The blue ink pops off the page! I have not been able to put this bible down! Reading the Word of God is a divine experience with this SonRise version! Thank you so much for bringing this to fruition! Blessings to you and yours! Jesus Christ is King of kings, Lord of lords!!!

Overall I’m very pleased with my purchase. The workmanship and quality are very good. The packaging was protective so the Bible arrived un-damaged. The package arrived in a timely fashion. I would recommend it to others.

This is a beautiful Bible. This Bible is well crafted, designed and very readable. I love that the words of Christ are in blue. I absolutely love it. I’m so glad I decided to add the SonRise to my HL Bible collection.

In my opinion, the words are perfect on the page. I don’t feel like they fall in to the gutter too much and I like having the extra space in the margin to write small notes.

I've been reading my Humble Lamb SonRise for a few weeks now. It's been refreshing to spend time in a premium edition of the NLT. The goatskin leather is gorgeous, giving off that characteristic aroma that only quality leather has. I love the yapp, which is quite nearly full. The bible has all the "floppiness" I'd hoped for. Mine is black with a cream colored leather liner. When it is sitting open on my lap, the liner reflects the gold art building, giving the whole bible a sense of glowing radiance. The image of Christ risen in the guilding is incredible and very unique. I have never seen anything like that before. The paper also has a premium hand to it, and the Gustave Dore illustrations are wonderful to have embedded in the text. Don't underestimate the way they can help bring the text to life. The footnotes and references are subtle and non-intrusive and it's a pleasure to read the single-column text block. The ribbons are also very nice, a reminder that my premium ESV (from another company) came with sub-standard ribbons. If I had constructive feedback (though these are far from deal breakers), I would suggest that future editions create more margin at the center, as the text falls a bit into the gutter. It's still very readable, but I sometimes find myself stretching it open wider to make reading more comfortable. I'd also add that, while the line matching and paper quality keep "ghosting" to a minimum, there's a lot of darkness that comes through the page opposite the illustrations (not sure anything can be done about this, as the Dori images are quite dark due to the artist's style). Also, the quality of the illustrations' print isn't as good as in my larger format Gustave Doré table-top books. But that's to be expected. Big picture, this is a gorgeous bible and I am very pleased to have it. In fact, I am considering ordering some matching Humble Lamb Bibles in other translations as well.
